Òmnium Garrotxa hosts dialogue on teaching and learning of languages
The residents of the Faberllull residency "Horizons for Language Teaching in a Multilingual and Digital World" presented to the Olot public how the research they have carried out in different contexts and with different languages helps provide useful insights into better understanding language teaching and learning and, above all, into making more informed decisions around how to teach them.
At an event held this Thursday at the headquarters of Òmnium Garrotxa, they reflected on how languages are taught and learnt in a multilingual, digital world. They also shared research findings on how and through which strategies languages, and specifically Catalan, could be best taught and learnt.
With many teachers in the audience, the event was presented in a Q&A format, addressing various issues on educational and family sociolinguistics, acquisition and the formal and informal teaching and learning of languages. There was also an open mic session to share experiences and insights among attendees and speakers, while jointly exploring some of the issues presented in greater depth.
