Àfrica Fanlo Offers Printing Workshop for Illustrators at Faberllull
Illustrator Àfrica Fanlo led a workshop on characters and creative printing, aimed at the participants of the illustration residency currently taking place at Faberllull. The workshop aimed to explore simple stamping techniques with everyday objects, reveal how unique characters can emerge from shapes and textures, develop creativity and imagination through play and create a collective work with all the participants, full of stamped characters.
Fanlo suggested they experiment with different objects and textures to recreate shapes that resemble eyes, hair, clothes and expressions. In addition, each participant created a character printed on paper, adding details with paint, markers or collage. At the end of the workshop, a large joint work was composed with all the characters.
Àfrica Fanlo (Barcelona) is a specialist in painting and engraving. She has a longstanding career in the publishing industry, with more than 30 children's books published.
