David Martínez offers an applied theatre session and acting training

On Thursday, actor, director, playwright and theatre educator David Martínez (Barcelona) delivered a session on applied theatre and acting training to students from the School of Theatre and Dance in Andorra la Vella, at La Llacuna Cultural Centre.

Martínez kicked off the session with a series of theatrical exercises designed to help students connect with their inner rhythm and with scenes related to the climate crisis. He then invited them to participate in a physical interpretation exercise and a dramatic pretext that introduced a conflict between individuality and empathy.

In doing so, the students became both spectators and performers, and were encouraged to take a stance on the conflict presented in the story.

David Martínez will be at Faber Andorra until 23 June, working on Arrelant-nos (Rooting us), a theatre piece aimed at young audiences designed to be performed in classrooms. The work explores humanity's relationship with nature and seeks to prompt students to reflect on current issues such as the ecosocial crisis we are experiencing and to awaken critical thinking in them.
