Panel on inclusive, sustainable culture

On Monday 10 October the Biennial of Thought started in Palma with a panel on inclusive, sustainable culture, organised by Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics.

The panelists were were Maria del Mar Matas, from Apropa Cultura; Alejandro Seguí, from Adaptatetu, and Ana Espina, of Fonart; the panel was moderated by Elisenda Farré, project manager at IEB. These three entities work for inclusion, sustainability and environment within the scope of culture.

Apropa Cultura is an initiative which started 16 years ago in Catalonia and was established in the Balearic Islands 2 years ago; it is an inclusive network of venue directors and social entities with the goal of making access to culture easier to a wide array of collectives.

Adaptatetu was created 2 years ago with two main goals: getting education and awareness together regarding disability, and providing the music industry with tools to achieve accessibility for its events, going beyond physical disability.

Fonart is a Mallorcan promoting company for concerts and events which has been ground-breaking in the inclusion of environmental issues in all their activities; the company has been applying this vision especially since 2020, when they implemented real change in its production scheme.
