Alissa Ganíeva has talked about tradition and transgression in her fiction, about how to deal with the closed society’s rules. Her book is like a mirror of struggle between the patriarchy, archaism, global consumerism and liberal freedoms.

The talk was about the cultural peculiarities of her book, La muntanya de la festa. First of all, Ricard San Vicente and Miguel Cabal explained the contents and details of the book and then the students asked about the Ganíeva’s narrative. The political difficulties described were the focus of the talk; difficulties that, obviously, have a cultural and religious aspect and end up affecting power relations implicit in gender relations.
